Falnish tablets are an effective treatment for malaria caused by P. falciparum and unidentified plasmodium species as they contain the antiparasitic medications artemether and lumefantrine. This combination therapy works by increasing blood levels of heme, which is toxic to the malarial parasite and hence exerts its effects against the erythrocytic stages of plasmodium spp. The parasite is expelled as a result, and the infection is prevented from progressing. It works in places where chloroquine is ineffective, although it is not given to prevent malaria.
